Day 32: Columbrianos to Villafranca del Bierzo, 18.6 kilometers

A French pilgrim, it is said, brought the Cabernet Franc grape here many years ago. It morphed into a grape now known as the Mencia. Its wine has become very successful and having sampled no less than a bottle, we agree it is deservedly acclaimed. We were so enamored that we tripled our wine budget and spent $3 for a bottle.
